What will I learn with a robotics minor?

Robotics involves designing, building and operating intelligent machines capable of performing tasks autonomously or semi-autonomously in diverse environments. Advances in computing, sensing technologies, electronic systems and mechanical design have made robots versatile and essential for applications such as manufacturing automation, medical assistance, precision agriculture, disaster response, environmental monitoring and more.

The robotics minor at the University of Nevada, Reno provides you with foundational knowledge and hands-on skills needed for success in this dynamic field. This interdisciplinary program draws from Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering to offer a broad base in robotics technologies, systems integration and real-world applications.

Learning outcomes

The objective of this interdisciplinary minor is to provide students with the skills and experience to apply what they learn in their major toward solving robotics engineering challenges.
