Summary
Joshua Ozymy is a Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice. He was previously a Professor of Political Science at the University of Tennesse at Chattanooga and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, where he was also Director of the Honors Program, Director of Strategic Initiatives, and President (Speaker) of the Faculty Senate. His research centers on how and why we enforce environmental laws in the United States, with a particular focus on criminal enforcement. His work has been featured in over 80 academic journal articles and chapters, as well as a recent book, Toxic Intent, which explores the history of environmental criminal enforcement in America. He is currently finishing a book manuscript that analyzes the role of victims in environmental crime prosecutions over the last four decades.
