Summary
Craig Denney teaches classes on criminal law and procedure, white collar and corporate crime, organized crime, and federal prosecution. He has been an instructor at the University of Nevada, Reno in the criminal justice department since 2002.
Mr. Denney is a magistrate judge at the federal court in Nevada. Prior to being appointed as a federal judge, Mr. Denney served as an administrative law judge with the Social Security Administration. Before becoming a judge, Mr. Denney worked as a trial attorney in private practice at Snell & Wilmer. His practice areas included federal criminal defense and civil litigation. He is board certified in criminal trial advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Denney served as a federal prosecutor for the United States Attorney’s Office in the District of Nevada. He prosecuted white collar crime, drug trafficking, money laundering, organized crime, violent crime and immigration offenses.
Mr. Denney is a also a military judge and colonel in the Army Reserve JAG Corps. He currently serves on the Army Court of Criminal Appeals and previously served on the trial bench for 10 years in the Army Reserve.
