Summary
Violet King is a Ph.D. student studying linguistics at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Originally from Camp Verde, Arizona, she obtained her B.A. in Linguistics from the University of Arizona. An artist herself, her research focuses on artistic approaches to language revitalization and languages of the Pacific. She previously served as director of the Language Documentation Training Center at UH Mānoa, and currently serves as the coordinator for the Micronesian Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship in Linguistics, a training program for Micronesian students to conduct research projects on and produce materials for their own languages.
