RSP Multimodal Literacy & Robotics Program

Since 2017, Rachel Salas has incorporated robotics in the Center for Learning & Literacy's tutoring programs.  Robotics is another method to support struggling readers, writers, and English learners to develop and acquire academic literacy skills.  Each year the robotics program is based on the First LEGO League (FLL) theme; all things revolve around science, engineering, and environmental issues.  This program runs during the summer and fall, with the annual Northern Nevada FLL competition in December.

Generously supported by the Regents Service Program, the Summer 2019 tutoring and robotics program will employ University of Nevada, Reno student workers who will tutor students from the local community as well as support the students as they engage with robotics-related activities.
