Summary
Currently in his first year of the Ph.D. program in anthropology at the University of Nevada, Reno, Connor Ball holds a B.A. in anthropology from the University of Colorado Boulder. He completed field school at Crow Canyon Archaeological Center in Cortez, CO, and returned the following year as an intern. He began his career in archaeological research, working with Dr. Scott Ortman on quantifying hunting investment at Ancestral Puebloan sites in the Southwest. After graduating from Boulder in 2023, he traveled extensively for a year, mostly climbing, backpacking and backcountry splitboarding in Southeast Asia, Bolivia, Brazil, western Europe, and the western United States. In 2024, he worked on high-elevation archaeological survey projects in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. He also worked as an archaeologist for the Arctic Slope Regional Corporation in Anchorage, Alaska. His experience includes backcountry survey, excavation, archaeological site mapping, and quantitative analysis. He is also trained as an EMT. He enjoys backcountry adventures in most capacities in his free time.
