The Museum of People, Place, and Time is open most of the semester, Wednesday-Saturday 12-5 p.m. The museum is closed on University-observed holidays.
The museum will be closed Dec. 21, 2025 through Jan. 6, 2026 for winter break.
Admission is always free.
The Museum of People, Place, and Time is located in Room 528 of the Ansari Building at the south end of campus. There is no street access or street parking close to the museum. Using the 1664 N. Virginia St. address, your navigation system will take you to the center of campus, not the museum.
If you are entering the Ansari Building through the main entrance on the first floor from the north end of campus, take a right towards the elevators and go up to the fifth floor. Immediately after exiting the elevator, take a right into the anthropology hallway and then a left down the hallway. We are located at the end of the hallway in Room 528.

There are two paid visitor parking areas that are within walking distance of the museum:
The closest accessible parking is located on the east side of the Ansari Building, between the Utility Plant and the Scurgham Engineering and Mines. If you are using a navigation system, enter "Scurgham Engineering and Mines" in your application.
Access is off the southbound side of Evans Ave. The parking lot is located on Record St., which you will take to the end of the street. You will need to purchase a parking permit from Parking Services. You can call Parking Services at (775) 784-4654 or visit the Parking Services ADA information website.
ADA access to the building is at the main entrance on the first floor, north entrance. There is an ADA ramp to this entrance from the accessible parking lot.
