Apex Concerts and the Performing Arts Series in the School of the Arts at the University of Nevada, Reno present Johann Sebastian Bach’s complete Brandenburg Concertos, performed by the renowned Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. 

On Thursday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. the stage of Nightingale Concert Hall will welcome an all-star line-up of 20 musicians from the multi-generational international roster of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, performing Bach’s complete Brandenburg Concertos. Widely regarded as the greatest examples of Baroque instrumental music, these six masterpieces unfailingly provide fulfillment for music lovers of all backgrounds, and are a perfect vehicle to inspire strength at year’s end and a vision for the brightest future. 

“This is a rare and unusual opportunity to hear these Baroque masterpieces performed in their entirety, by some of the world’s finest musicians on our own Nightingale stage. It is a not-to-be-missed musical marathon,” Hyeyeon Park, Artistic Co-Director of Apex Concerts said.

The Dec. 9 performance is part of a national tour that will visit several of the nation’s most prestigious concert halls, including New York’s Alice Tully Hall. The University of Nevada, Reno’s own Professor of Music Dmitri Atapine, is on the national tour and will perform during the concert in Reno.

Tickets are $31 - $36 (Adult), $16 (Youth), and $5 (University of Nevada, Reno students). University student tickets must be purchased in-person at the Lawlor Events Center or at the box office the night of the show (at the event venue, opens one hour before the performance). 

The Brandenburg Concertos conclude the fall line-up for both Apex Concerts and the Performing Arts Series. Apex Concerts continues on January 26, 2022 with Masters and Apprentices, celebrating the master-apprentice tradition with cellist David Finckel and clarinetist David Shifrin.

The Performing Arts Series continues on February 24, 2022 with the acclaimed Irish ensemble Goitse.
