Nevada swimmer Donna dePolo has qualified to compete at the 2022 NCAA Championships for the second year in a row. The championships will be hosted by Georgia Tech Institute of Technology at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Georgia, March 16-19.
"We are so proud of Donna for her hard work this year and performance at the conference meet to qualify her for the NCAA." says head coach Brendon Bray, "It is an honor to have our university represented at the meet and we look forward to having her cap off her college career on the biggest stage and improving her performance from last year."
dePolo's results at the 2022 Mountain West Championships in the 100 and 200 breaststroke earned her spot at the NCAA Championships. dePolo's 100 breaststroke time of 59.84 ties her at 36th in the nation, while her 200 breaststroke time of 2:08.31 ranks 25th in the nation. dePolo swept the breaststroke events after finishing in first-place in both events at the MW Championships.
As it for now, dePolo is the only Nevada student-athlete to qualify for the NCAA Championships. The divers will be competing at the NCAA E Zone Diving Championship in Flagstaff, Ariz. looking for a shot to qualify for the NCAA Championships, March 7-9.
