Performance Checklist

  • Sampling and Density Module

    All technicians must certify for these tests:

    Sampling and Density Tests
    AASHTO R90 Sampling Aggregate Products Exempt if qualified in Aggregate Module, taken within one year (doesn't apply for written exam)
    AASHTO R76 Reducing Samples of Aggregate to Testing Size Exempt if qualified in Asphalt Module, taken within one year (doesn't apply for written exam)
    AASHTO R97 Sampling Asphalt Mixtures
    AASHTO R47 Reducing Samples of Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) to Testing Size Exempt if qualified in Asphalt Module, taken within one year (doesn't apply for written exam)
    AASHTO T310 In-Place Density and Moisture Content of Soil and Soil-Aggregate by Nuclear Methods (Shallow Depth) Gauges without a source will be used during the performance testing
    Nev. T335H Method of Test For Relative Compaction of Plantmix Bituminous Base and Surface Using A Nuclear Density Gauge Gauges without a source will be used during the performance testing
  • Aggregate Module

    Combined ACI Aggregate Base Testing Technician Level 1 certifications will satisfy the requirements for these tests. Must be obtained within one year prior to the performance testing date.

    Note: Starting January 2011 the combination of ACI Aggregate Base Testing Technician, ACI Aggregate Testing Technician Level 1 and ACI Aggregate Testing Technician Level 2 will be accepted in Lieu of NAQTC testing for the NAQTC Aggregate Module for the condition that all ACI certifications are obtained within one year prior to the NAQTC performance testing.

    AASHTO R58 Dry Preparation of Disturbed Soil and Soil Aggregate Samples for Test Exempt if qualified in Asphalt Module, taken within one year (doesn't apply for written exam)

  • Concrete Module

    AQTC requires the American Concrete Institute (ACI) certification in the "Field Testing Technician, Grade I."
