Pick-up, return, buyout iPad
iPad pick up
All newly admitted, full-time, degree-seeking freshman and transfer students will receive their Digital Wolf Pack Initiative equipment just before the start of their first semester at the University. For most students this will be the Fall of their Freshman year.
If you couldn't make it to an iPad distribution event to pick up your iPad, you can contact email@example.com to confirm your eligibility and schedule a time to pick up your device. Prior to your arrival, you will need to complete the University of Nevada Student Technology Agreement located in Canvas. Please be prepared to show proof of your signed agreement.
All iPad distributions need to be scheduled by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you leave the University of Nevada, Reno prior to completing your undergraduate degree and are participating in the DWPI, you must purchase or return the iPad, Apple Pencil, Keyboard Folio and charger cable and dock upon your departure. To initiate the return process and set up an appointment, please fill out our electronic University iPad Departure Form. Be sure to bring your student ID and all the technology with you to your return appointment.
If you have already left the area, arrangements can be made for you to ship your device once you have completed the University iPad Departure Form. If any returns are made with missing accessories (Apple Pencil, Keyboard Folio, or charge cable and dock), students may be liable for cost.
iPad buyout option
If you withdraw or transfer from University of Nevada, Reno prior to completing your undergraduate degree, you have the option to purchase your iPad and all related accessories at its depreciated value to keep ownership. To initiate the buyout process, please fill out the University iPad Departure Form. Once that has been submitted you will then make a payment though the cashier's office. After purchasing your device, we will remove the mobile device management (MDM) system and you can continue to use your iPad as you would with any other of your personal devices. Please note that after we remove the MDM software your device will reset to factory settings, so we encourage you to back up the device regularly to prevent any loss of data.
Transfer of ownership to graduates
Graduates will be sent a link to the University iPad Departure Form to initiate the iPad transfer. Once that has been completed, the student will be notified of the date that their iPad will be removed from the mobile device manager (MDM). The MDM will remove all University apps before uninstalling. At this point, the device is owned outright by the graduate. Please note that after we remove the MDM software your device will reset to factory settings, so we encourage you to back up the device regularly to prevent any loss of data.
Students who graduate from the University will be able to keep their iPad at no cost.
