Due to the high demand for COVID-19 tests at the Student Health Center, we are encouraging all employees to seek COVID-19 testing elsewhere in the community. There are sufficient community resources available for employees to see testing off campus.
The Student Health Center is completely self-supported by student fees and prioritizes health and wellness services for students and must focus on its prescribed mission to provide healthcare for students.
Free daily testing for students
Free daily COVID-19 testing is available for students from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Testing options include Antigen testing and PCR testing for diagnosis of infection.
Testing appointments can be made by calling (775) 784-6598.
Due to a high demand for testing services in our community and on our campus, the Student Health Center may not be able to schedule a COVID test for you on the day you call, but will make every effort to schedule a test as soon as possible. The Student Health Center is unable to accommodate weekly surveillance testing for unvaccinated employees.
Patients will be required to complete a COVID-19 screening form available through the Student Health Center patient portal from their phone or computer prior to their appointment.
Other testing providers
In addition to the Student Health Center, COVID-19 testing is available through the Washoe County Health District, Southern Nevada Health District, and providers listed on the Nevada Health Reponse website.
Increased testing availability at two local Walmart locations
Two Walmart locations, including 2nd Street and Lemmon Valley, will increase access to COVID-19 testing through late September, with appointments on weekdays and weekends. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing is free to residents.
