COVID-19 testing

On-campus COVID-19 testing is available for University of Nevada, Reno students, faculty and staff via our partnership with Northshore Clinical Labs at the Student Health Center.

Free, walk-in testing

University of Nevada, Reno students, faculty and staff can access free, walk-in COVID-19 testing at the Student Health Center via a partnership with Northshore Clinical Labs. Currently, the testing area is in the previous Campus Pharmacy in the Student Center. Both rapid and PCR tests are available.

Testing availability: Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

What you need to know

  • Individuals with insurance will be asked to provide their insurance information.
  • An NSHE ID or employee ID number will be required to register for testing
  • No appointments are required, but you must complete a registration form ahead of testing.

The services can also be used for students and employees who are in need of mandatory weekly testing based on any religious or medical exemptions granted to them by the University.

Free COVID-19 test kits from U.S. Postal Service

Four free at-home COVID-19 rapid tests are available for order and shipment through the United States Postal Service.

COVID-19 test reimbursement for employees

Employees covered by PEBP health insurance are eligible for reimbursement of up to eight free at-home tests per month. See details on our benefits page.
