The Outstanding Senior Award recognizes graduating students who have excelled academically and have improved leadership in our College.

Congratulations to Nikki Zuber, this year’s Outstanding Senior in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation! Nikki earned dual degrees in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation (B.S.) and Communication Studies (B.A.). This year Nikki served on the marketing advisory board of Stop Poaching Now! and used her communication skills to create social media posts, design email campaigns and design ads. Her volunteer work is related to wildlife and the environment, including the Fallon Wood Duck project through Nevada Department of Wildlife, volunteer time at the Reno Safari Zoo and the SPCA and Nevada Humane Society. Nikki also volunteered with a UNR lab group studying the impacts of urbanization on birds. In addition to her academics and volunteer work Nikki was Director of Activities and an Executive Board Member for Lambda Phi Xi Multicultural Sorority. She is also a Head Lifeguard for the City of Reno. After graduation Nikki plans to work for Great Basin Institute on vegetation monitoring in the Reno area.
