The Outstanding Ph.D. Student Award is given annually to graduate students who have distinguished records within their programs, shown leadership qualities on campus and worked for the improvement of our College.

Maria Sole Bonarota, from Italy, is a second-year Ph.D. student in the Barrios Lab who coauthored a paper, wrote a review paper, and successfully conducted several research trials on grapevine and tomato responses to drought and salinity in her first year at the University.
