M.A. thesis title: The impact of intrinsic factors on the manifestation of skeletal trauma in blunt force cases

Sonia Kominek is a biological anthropology M.A. student with interests in forensic anthropology, osteology and human variation. She received her B.A. in anthropology at San Francisco State University. Her previous experience includes excavating 17th century human remains at a mortuary field school in Poland and an internship at the San Mateo County Coroner's Office. She currently works as a forensic autopsy technician in the San Francisco Medical Examiner's Office. Her research is rooted in skeletal trauma and how sex, underlying pathology and age can influence the level of trauma development in blunt force cases.
