FINAL REVIEW RALLY @ THE MATH CENTER

 

The Math Center will be hosting review sessions for finals for specific Math and Physics courses. For each session we will be going over all course material learned in these courses over the entire semester, common mistakes seen on the final, and any specific questions you have about anything relating to the course and course material.

Accuplacer testing resumes Monday, April 1st, and will continue until Thursday, September 5th.

Please make sure that you print the Accuplacer form and pay for the test at the Cashier's Office BEFORE arriving at the Math Center.  

Students need to arrive 90 minutes before the lab closes and testing is not allowed on Sundays.  

Well the weather is definitely cold but the spring semester has started.  We are back to our normal hours of operation and SUNDAY hours will start February 3rd.

For those of you taking Accuplacer, testing will continue until Thursday, January 31st at 3pm.

The Math Center will be open for Wintermester classes starting December 31st.  Our hours of operation during Wintermester will be 10am - 3pm.  If you want to take an Accuplacer test during this time please show up at least 90 minutes before closing. 

Waiting until the last minute to start studying?  Well, that's a bad idea but we still got you covered.  The Math Center will be open for tutoring until Wednesday, December 19th to help you with finals.  Also, we scheduled lots of tutors for the next two weeks to reduce your waiting time.  So come in and get that last minute help you need for your exams.  

                  

                  Remember we are also open Sundays 1pm - 6pm.

The semester is officially underway so don't hesitate to get a jump on your math classes. 

Our new location has lots of open space for working, plenty of white-boards (and cool white-board paint!) for tutoring and brand new computers to help you with homework assignments and class projects.

The Math Center has moved to the William Raggio Building, Room 1003!

You may have to "pardon our dust" for a little bit while we get things situated, but the Math Center is open for business at our new, bigger location!

Accuplacer testing hours (10am -3pm) will continue until Friday, August 24th.  On Monday, August 27th we will resume normal operating hours. 

Accuplacer Deadline                                                               (8/15/12)

THE LAST DATE TO TAKE ACCUPLACER FOR FALL 2012 IS THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 6TH AT 2PM. 

 

This is the last day to add a class with the instructor's approval. 

While students are able to take Accuplacer until this date, we highly encourage them to finalize their placement before classes begin.  

The Math Center is moving to a bigger and better location!  During the summer we will be packing up our computers, tutors and white boards, throwing them in boxes (we'll make sure there's a few air holes just to be safe) and making our way over to the William Raggio Building.  

WRB 1003 will be the new home for the Math Center.  We don't have an exact date for when we'll open our doors, so check back here and visit our Facebook page for updates and more information.  

Until then, it's normal operations in AB 610.  So stop by and see us before your summer class gets away from you.

Easter Sunday -OPEN                                                                         (4/2/12)

The Math Center will be OPEN Easter Sunday 4/8/12 for our normal Sunday hours 1-6pm.  Take advantage of this time; finals are right around the corner!!  

Spring Break Closure                                                                                 (3/12/12)

The Math Center will be closed for Spring Break.  From Saturday, March 17th, until  Saturday, March 24th.   

We will reopen Sunday at 1pm, March 25th.

Coffee and Hot Cocoa                                                                                   (2/14/12)

During the next few weeks be on the lookout for our table on Hilliard Plaza (next the Business Building).  We will be handing out free hot coffee and hot cocoa on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  It's just our way of showing our appreciation for all of the students who visited us last semester.      

Don't forget we are open Sundays 1-6pm.  

Spring 2012                                                                                     (1/30/12)

Start the new year off right and stay on top of your math classes.  We are back to our regular hours.  Monday - Friday 8am -5pm and starting February 5th we will have our Sunday hours 1pm -6pm.  

If you need to take an Accuplacer test for Spring 2012 you have until  Wednesday, February 1st at 12pm.   

Wintermester Without Snow?!                                            (1/9/12)

Wintermester is here and those math classes go by FAST!  Stay on top of the material by visiting the Math Center.  We are open from 10am - 3pm; Monday - Friday.  

If you need to take an Accuplacer test please arrive before 1:30pm.  

Six Thousand Visits!                                                  (12/27/11)

The Math Center has had over 6,000 student visits this semester (a 35% increase from last year).   We have lucked out and have managed to hire the best students on campus.  Our tutors are amazing and have done an excellent job keeping up with the huge increase in traffic.  (Our TAs and admin are pretty awesome too!)

This is a great way to end the fall semester and we look forward to seeing everyone in the spring!

That's right, SUNDAYS. 

Starting Sunday, September 25th the Math Center will be open Sundays 1pm -6pm.  We know how it works, Sunday afternoon is when you do homework and have time to study  --so that's when we're open.  

Welcome Back!!                                                                    (8/20/11)

THE FALL SEMESTER IS HERE!

We are open 8am - 5pm, Monday -Friday. All UNR students are welcome to visit the Math Center for math and stat help.  You don't need an appointment; just bring your student ID and drop by any time.  We have 20 computer stations with lots of software to help you with online homework.  Be proactive this semester  -get help as soon as you need it.

Summer is Just Around the Corner                                                     (4/15/11)

Summer break is almost here!   The Math Center will be open for tutoring and Accuplacer testing from May 23rd - August 19th, 10 am - 3pm.  See our Hours of Operation for more information.  

SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!!                                          (3/15/11)

From now, until the end of the semester, the Math Center will be open on Sundays from 1pm - 6pm!  So as the work is piling up at the end of the semester  we will be open when you need us most.  

Spring Semester is Here                                                                  (1/20/11)

Starting January 18th we will return to our normal hours: 8am -5pm. Come check out our redesigned lab.  We now have more tables, more white boards and more space to accommodate students.
