We offer a variety of programs to support and empower you in developing your pedagogical skills and advancing your teaching practice.

Book Group

For the fall 2024 semester, we will be reading and discussing the 2024 publication Teaching with AI by José Antonio Bowen and C. Edward Watson. This group will meet at 12 p.m. on September 11, 18, 25 and October 2. Please consider applying to be a part of Book Group if you are interested in learning more about thinking, teaching, and learning with AI. 

Applying Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

This four-week asynchronous online course is designed to introduce the principles and practices of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), a framework for designing inclusive and effective learning experiences. This course is cohort-based, starting on October 1, 2024 and ends on October 31, 2024. Participants will explore the foundations of UDL, its three core principles, practical strategies for implementing UDL in your courses, and will leave with a solid understanding of UDL and a toolkit of strategies to enhance your teaching practice. 

Faculty teaching and learning community

This year-long program promotes deeper learning about teaching in a faculty learning community to advance your knowledge and competencies in core teaching areas andto promote reflection on your teaching.

Teaching portfolio workshop

The teaching portfolio workshop is designed for faculty assembling a teaching portfolio as part of third-year review or promotion application. This interactive session will include opportunities to reflect on teaching and will offer advice on effectively articulating, organizing, and presenting a teaching portfolio for third-year review or promotion. Those supporting faculty in preparing a teaching portfolio are also welcome to attend. This workshop is typically offered in December and May.
