The Issues Management Team (IMT) provides strategic leadership decisions to support the priorities of the University. In this role, the team identifies and manages issues or crisis situations, providing strategic oversight, policy guidance, planning, communications and logistics support to onsite responders through recovery.

In order to protect our community and allow the University to continue its mission and operation, the University relies on collaboration and the strong partnerships we have formed with other agencies in our region to maintain a successful emergency management program. This page lists some of the many partners that are key to maintaining a successful emergency management program and protecting our community.
Disaster Resilient Universities (DRU)
The DRU Network is a simple resource for increased communication, coordination and collaboration among universities to mitigate, prepare for, respond to, operate during, and recover from natural disasters, acts of terrorism, or other crises. A cornerstone of resilience is establishing effective partnerships. The peer-to-peer information sharing among DRU members allows university and/or college emergency management professionals to share information and engage in discussions and dialogues related to the profession and emerging issues around campus emergency management. Collectively and professionally we can strengthen the resilience of universities and colleges by sharing our experiences, strategies, technical resources, processes and lessons learned.
International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM)
The mission of IAEM is to advance the profession by promoting the principles of emergency management, and to serve its members by providing information, networking and development opportunities.
Nevada Emergency Preparedness Association (NEPA)
The Nevada Emergency Preparedness Association is committed to improving statewide resilience through cooperative, multi-stakeholder processes and the professional development of emergency preparedness practitioners. Its goal is to build a more resilient Nevada through the values of collaboration, commitment and competence.
National Intercollegiate Mutual Aid Agreement (NIMAA)
The National Intercollegiate Mutual Aid Agreement is a source for providing/and or receiving assistance. The agreement allows institutes of higher education to share equipment, personnel and other resources. During an emergency, an institute of higher education must determine what resources it needs and evaluate the options available to obtain those resources. Intercollegiate aid can encompass all of those options.
Weather Ready Nation Ambassador Program
The Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador™ initiative is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) effort to formally recognize NOAA partners who are improving the nation’s readiness, responsiveness and overall resilience against extreme weather, water and climate events. As a WRN Ambassador, partners commit to working with NOAA and other Ambassadors to strengthen national resilience against extreme weather. In effect, the WRN Ambassador initiative helps unify the efforts across government, non-profits, academia and private industry toward making the nation more ready, responsive and resilient against extreme environmental hazards.
