President Brian Sandoval will deliver the annual State of the University address at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, in the Milt Glick Ballroom at the Joe Crowley Student Union.
In his address, Sandoval will talk about the University’s first 150 years and the new and equally exciting era in the University’s future. He will also discuss how high-profile capital improvement projects are building stronger connections with the community and how the University’s efforts to make the institution more accessible to all populations in the state are changing the lives of Nevada’s families. His presentation will highlight the achievements and accomplishments of the University’s students, faculty and staff and the ways in which the mission of the University will meet the new needs and expectations of the state.
Following the address, refreshments will be served and the “University Sesquicentennial Film” will be played. Attendees can also purchase signed copies of “The University of Nevada, 1874-2024: 150 Years of Inspiring Excellence” book following the event program. The author of the book, John Trent, will be available for book signing during the event.
University students, faculty, staff and the community are welcomed and encouraged to attend. People can RSVP on the State of the University Eventbrite page.
