For more than 20 years, fun and learning have gone hand in hand at KIDS University summer camps held on the University of Nevada, Reno campus. This year, more than 20 different full-day and half-day weeklong camps will be offered for children ages 7-14 from June 17 to July 26.
Many of the high-quality educational camps are STEAM based, and some offerings include art, world cultures, mythology, coding, creative writing, Harry Potter, space, robotics, cheer and dance, soccer, yoga, forensic investigation, health care, math, basketball and animals.
The camps are offered by the University’s Extended Studies unit, and are taught by certified teachers and graduate students, as well as professionals in their fields. KIDS U programs are designed to introduce campers to the college experience and help them discover their strengths to widen their horizons. Many campers return year-after-year and later become counselors.
Registration is open now. Full-day camps are $325 per week. Half-day camps are $225 per week. For the weeks of June 17 and July 1, the full-day camps are $260 per week, and half-day camps are $180 per week, as no camps will be held June 19 and July 4.
