University of Nevada, Reno earns renewal of business and accounting accreditation

The College of Business at the University of Nevada, Reno has earned its extension of accreditation in business and accounting from The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International.

"This extension speaks to the high level of dedication by the faculty and staff in the College of Business and the University as a whole, College of Business Dean Greg Mosier said. "It is because of their efforts we're able to not only maintain such a high standard but also look at new and innovative ways to develop programs moving forward."

According to AACSB International, accreditation has been earned by less than five percent of the world's business programs.

"It takes a great deal of commitment and determination to earn and maintain AACSB Accreditation," Robert D. Reid, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International, said. "Business schools must not only meet specific standards of excellence, but their deans, faculty and professional staff must also make a commitment to ongoing continuous improvement to ensure that the institution will continue to deliver the highest quality of education to students."

AACSB International was founded in 1916 and is the longest-serving global-accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master's and doctoral degrees in business and accounting. Today, there are 694 business schools in 45 countries and territories that hold AACSB Accreditation.
