Summary
My journey into hydrogeology began on my father’s farm in India, where I witnessed firsthand the critical role of sustainable groundwater in agriculture and community livelihoods. This inspired me to pursue both a BS and an MS in Geology from Savitribai Phule Pune University.
My passion deepened during my master’s project in Jaisalmer, India’s driest region, where I conducted hydrogeological studies of traditional water systems. I performed aquifer characterization, pumping tests, and regional geological mapping, solidifying my commitment to developing practical solutions for water-scarce communities. I further honed my skills through projects in lake rejuvenation, creating LULC maps and modeling volumetric capacity, as well as a field trainee at the Atomic Mineral Directorate for Exploration and Research, Government of India. I also conducted sedimentary geology mapping at the Lower Gondwana Sequence and paleocurrent analysis.
As a master’s student at the University, I aim to gain expertise in watershed management and groundwater modeling to address global water scarcity challenges. Beyond academics, I enjoy photography, playing volleyball, exploring food and hiking places, which help me maintain perspective and creativity in my work.
