Mandatory Supervisor Training

The State of Nevada requires supervisors of classified employees to undergo supervisory training in the core areas below. Mandatory supervisor training is available online through the State of Nevada, Division of Human Resources Management. Register and complete these courses at  https://nvelearn.nv.gov

Within first 6 months of State employment then every 2 years

  • Alcohol & Drug Testing Procedures
  • Evaluating Employee Performance*
  • Handling Grievances
  • Interviewing & Hiring
  • Progressive Disciplinary Procedures
  • Work Performance Standards*
(*Required within 6 months of supervisory appointment and every 3 years thereafter)

The State of Nevada also offers additional supervisory non-mandatory courses through the  Office of Employee Development.

Register

  1. Visit  http://nvelearn.nv.gov
  2. Log in using your NV APPS I.D. If you do not have one, select Log-in Instructions under Main Menu for directions.
  3. Browse the Course Catalog under Main Menu, select Supervisor Training
  4. Select the course of interest by clicking the course name and clicking the Enroll Me button at the bottom of the course page.
  5. Once you successfully complete the course, it is your responsibility to provide your certificate of completion to your campus HR or training office to receive credit.
