Summary
Katie Miller is a Teaching Assistant Professor of English and the Associate Director of the Core Writing Program. She teaches courses ranging from first-year writing to upper division English courses for majors and non-majors. In all her teaching, Miller aims to help students not only improve their written products, but cultivate habits of mind necessary to effectively tackle the various academic reading, thinking, speaking and writing challenges students will encounter throughout the undergraduate core curriculum at the University of Nevada, Reno. Her research focuses on writing assessment, developmental writing, and pedagogical uses of pop culture in writing courses. Miller is the David Heston Fenimore Distinguished Teaching Fellow of English.
