Summary

Daniel Enrique Pérez is an associate professor of Chicanx and Latinx studies in the Department of World Languages and Literatures and the director of the Core Humanities program at the University of Nevada, Reno, where he is also a faculty associate of the Gender, Race and Identity program.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics, an master's degree in comparative literature, and a Ph.D. in Spanish with an emphasis on Chicana/o literature.

His research focuses on the intersections of gender, ethnicity and sexuality, especially concerning queer Chicana/o identities. He is a founding member of the Association for Jotería Arts, Activism and Scholarship (AJAAS) and of Teatro Bravo, a Latino theater company in Phoenix. Besides his research in Jotería studies, he has published several works related to theater and performance.
