COVID-19 safety information for students
August 19, 2021
This message was sent to University of Nevada, Reno students.
In an effort to keep you and others around you safe, we want to remind you of a few important things as you return to campus.
The latest policies and guidelines addressing COVID 19 topics, including face covering, social distancing, contact tracing, and testing, are available on the University’s coronavirus webpage. The website also includes a section that addresses many frequently asked questions regarding COVID-19 vaccinations and what to do regarding positive tests and close encounters.
Please note that faculty have been asked not penalize students for missing class for being quarantined due to COVID-19 infection or exposure and must also allow quarantined individuals the opportunity to make up missed course work including assignments, quizzes and exams.
It is the student’s responsibility to inform instructors that they are missing class due to being quarantined.
Please take advantage of the upcoming free vaccination clinic, Friday, August 20, in the Joe Crowley Student Union from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. or, call the Student Health Center at (775) 784-6598 to schedule your appointment.
Get vaccinated and win big! Students currently enrolled in the Fall 2021 semester and who are fully vaccinated by October 1, 2021 can be entered into a drawing to win fantastic prizes including:
- Two $5,000 tuition scholarships
- Campus meal packages

- Parking passes
- Nevada Athletics tickets
- WolfBucks

Please note that because of the fluid nature of the COVID 19 pandemic, it is likely that we will have to amend our current policies and procedures to address changes as they occur. While we will send out timely updates, we also recommend that you regularly check the University’s coronavirus page.
