Student COVID-19 vaccine information

April 6, 2021

This message was sent to students at the University of Nevada, Reno

Your University would like to encourage all members of the Wolf Pack family to get vaccinated.

As of Monday, April 5, 2021, all residents who are 16 and older in Washoe County are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. Anyone 16-17 years old can only receive the Pfizer vaccine.

The scheduling tool listed is a statewide platform and appointments are available in both Northern and Southern Nevada. If you live in Washoe County, be sure to select appointments at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center. Appointments at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center are available starting the week of April 12.

In addition to appointment scheduling through Washoe County’s portal, we are encouraging all students to also check other providers.

Vaccine supply is subject to change.

It is important to note that each state has its own plan for deciding which groups of people will be vaccinated first. Students outside of Nevada are encouraged to contact their local health department for more information on its COVID-19 vaccination plan, or use VaccineFinder if already eligible to get vaccinated.

Please continue to check daily for appointments. Washoe County Health District officials have said that not all individuals will be able to schedule an appointment immediately. Appointment times are made available based on vaccine delivery and distribution, which can vary.

Help keep yourself and our community safe by participating in Nevada’s vaccine program.
