University-wide faculty and staff meeting

Dear Wolf Pack Family,

The spring 2021 semester is less than a week away, which brings with it both the opportunities and challenges of COVID-19. I remain positive that we will face this challenge with the adaptability, optimism and resilience that has characterized our University’s response since the pandemic first began. The people of our University continue to distinguish themselves for doing their part in Protecting the Pack.

There will be a lot happening during the coming semester, including the 81st Session of the Nevada State Legislature, which convenes in Carson City on Feb. 1. In addition, the University, working in partnership with the State of Nevada and Washoe County, will assist in the distribution of COVID-19 vaccinations to our faculty, students and staff.

In an effort to provide the latest updates for the spring semester, the University will be holding a University-wide meeting for faculty and staff via Zoom this Friday, Jan. 22 from 3:30 p.m.-5 p.m. We will use this time to discuss our current budget situation as we head into the new legislative session, as well as the University’s vaccination distribution plan, which includes how we are providing vaccinations to faculty, staff and students while working with limited supplies of the vaccine from the county and state.

To join the University-wide meeting, which will take place as a webinar on Zoom, please register online. You must be logged into Zoom with your NetID credentials to attend this webinar. To log in to Zoom, use the SSO option. When asked, enter “UNR” as the domain, then enter your NetID and Password.

You must register for the session. Once registered, participants will have a reserved spot. We recommend you register early. The meeting will be recorded and will be available to view online.

If you have questions you would like to provide prior to the meeting, please send them to UniversityWideMeeting@unr.edu.

I look forward to seeing you on Jan. 22. Go Pack!

Sincere regards,

Brian Sandoval
President
