Fall classes

July 16, 2020

This message was sent to University of Nevada, Reno students.

Dear Nevada students,

The University of Nevada, Reno faculty and academic administrators have been working to determine the best format for your fall semester classes. By early August you should be able to access MyNevada to see whether your classes will be taught completely in-person or completely remote or whether they will be a hybrid/HyFlex model with some remote learning and some in-person learning.

This summer many of your faculty have been engaged in classes offered by the University to enhance their teaching and your learning using remote technologies. As you prepare for fall semester we strongly encourage you to take the course in Canvas designed to help you maximize the remote learning format whether you are in a hyflex or a completely remote course. The link is below and there is a wealth of useful information specifically designed for you to succeed.

Student Learning Toolkit resource course

All students and instructors will be enrolled in the Student Learning Toolkit resource course, which will provide students resources on how to use the technology they may encounter in their fall 2020 courses. The resources cover student aspects of WebCampus, Zoom, Turnitin, and Proctorio. Faculty can leverage this course to assist them with providing instructions for students. The University will continue to provide you with information and updates. Check your email often to receive our messages. In addition, there is a great deal of regularly updated information at www.unr.edu.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kevin Carman
Provost and Executive Vice President
