Business Services Group
The College of Business at the University of Nevada, Reno is not only a business research institution, but it is also a primary source of business assistance and information for entrepreneurs in the state of Nevada, and indeed, the entire region. Through the Business Services Group, which consists of the Nevada Small Business Development Center, the Center for Regional Studies, and the Institute for the Study of Gambling and Commercial Gaming, the College of Business has provided business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs with the tools, training, and resources necessary to help take a business from a napkin sketch or dream to a profitable, sustainable enterprise.
The College of Business also helps host conferences and other meetings that bring together experts in the economics, finance and business world to share their knowledge with the public, faculty, and students.
Business Services Group
The Nevada Small Business Development Center is a statewide business assistance outreach program of the University of Nevada, Reno and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. It provides a unique array of services, expertise and training in all areas including starting, growth, and development of a business. The NSBDC also offers information and guidance in understanding and complying with environmental regulations. In addition, the NSBDC provides useful information and analysis of the economy, environment and demographic data to help businesses, government and other organizations promote economic growth in their communities.
The Center for Regional Studies is a self-supporting, economic and demographic research collaborative between the College of Business and the Nevada Small Business Development Center.
The Center serves the state with data and market analyses designed to help businesses select locations for operations, understand current market trends, and predict where the local economy is headed.

The Institute for the Study of Gambling and Commercial Gaming was established by the University of Nevada, Reno in 1989. As the first academically oriented program of its kind, the Institute serves as a structure to broaden the understanding of gambling and the commercial gaming industries. Its aim is to encourage and promote research and learning so that the multifaceted issues surrounding gambling and commercial gaming and the ways in which individuals and society-at-large are affected might be addressed.
