Component overview
An Embed component is used to place content from another source directly onto your webpage. Embed components can be used to embed either videos from YouTube or Vimeo or forms from Formstack.
- Embed components can be used on all page schemas: Embed components may be used on Section Fronts, Section Detail, Profile Detail and Degree Detail pages.
- Embed components can have multiple sizes: When placed on a page as a stand-alone component, embed components span 12 columns. They can also be embedded in a feature content block, in which case they span six columns, or in a form or video panel, in which case they can span 6 or 8 columns.
- Embed components have a white background. You can change the background on your embed component only by placing it within another component that holds embeds.
- Embed components can have spacing added to the top and/or bottom.
- Consider the length of your forms: If you are placing an embed component in panel or content block, think about the length of the form. If your form is lengthy, you can avoid awkward blank space by shortening your form, paginating your form or placing the embed directly on the page.
- Video embeds must have human-generated captions: All videos embedded on our site must have captions that have been reviewed and edited by a human. If human-reviewed captions are not available, you may not embed the video.
- Formstack forms require an accessibility check: Formstack contains a number of fields that are not accessible and may not be embedded in our website. Additionally, a number of other Formstack fields, such as drop-down lists, require manual review to confirm they are accessible. Please clear Formstack embeds in SiteImprove prior to publishing on your live website.
- Embeds require an iframe title: The Embed component uses iframes to embed videos and forms and requires an iframe title. This title is for screenreaders and will not display on your website. The iframe title should describe the content embedded in the frame so a user with a screenreader can decide whether to explore that content further.

The following examples shows a video embed used in a featured content block. These content blocks can also be placed in a panel to span full-width on section fronts. There is also a video panel component that offers additional styling options.
