Summary
Larry M. Engstrom served as director of the School of the Arts from its inception in 2004 to 2011 and again from 2013 through June 2017. He was chair of the department of music and dance from 2000 - 2003, director of jazz studies from 1989 - 2000 and director of the Reno Jazz Festival from 1991-2015.
Engstrom received a bachelor of arts degree in music education from California State University at Fresno and master of music and doctor of musical arts degrees in trumpet performance at the University of North Texas.
