All students must complete the NevadaFIT module in Journey to the Wolf Pack (Canvas) before arriving for check-in. This module provides important information to help you navigate the check-in process and prepare for NevadaFIT.
Students must present their WolfCard (student ID) at check-in.
If you did not pick up your WolfCard during summer orientation, submit your photo through the WolfCard website before Wednesday, August 12 at 8:00 a.m. Students who submit a photo in advance can pick up their WolfCard during New Student Check-In.
If you do not submit a photo in advance, a photo station will be available during check-in. Please bring an additional form of government-issued photo identification.
During check-in, families and guests are welcome to visit the 3rd floor of the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center, where they can connect with campus departments and resources while students complete the check-in process.

We welcome all incoming and returning students and their families to attend the 2026 Native American and Indigenous Student Welcome Reception on Saturday, August 15th, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Location: The Great Room (4th Floor) of the Joe Crowley Student Union.
The event will begin with an official welcome at 3:00 p.m., followed by an open house designed to explore campus resources, build community, and discover opportunities to get involved. Come connect with fellow students, meet campus support networks and staff, and learn about programs that support your success! Refreshments will be served.

Join us during Opening Weekend for Many Stories, One Pack, a space for API students to connect, build community, and start the semester feeling supported. This event is a great opportunity to meet other API students, make new friends, and connect with peers who share similar majors, interests, and backgrounds—whether you're from the same hometown or exploring similar paths at the University.
Come learn more about the Multicultural Center, the resources available to support you, and how we can help you succeed throughout the semester—academically, socially, and personally.
You’ll also get connected to programs, events, and opportunities that celebrate identity, culture, and belonging. This is your chance to build community, find support, and be part of the Pack.
Food will be available (while supplies last).
We invite you to attend our event, Mi Casa es Su Casa: A Latino Parent Welcome, Saturday, August 15, 4:30-6 p.m., Basin Street Club (near West Stadium). Parents will have an opportunity to hear from University of Nevada, Reno President Brian Sandoval, along with additional university leaders, to engage in a question-and-answer session. Small appetizers and fruit-infused drinks will be provided, along with some fun university swag (limited). Please RSVP to Mi Casa es Su Casa if interested in attending.
Los invitamos a nuestro evento, Mi Casa es Su Casa: Una Bienvenida con Padres Latinos, el sábado 15 de agosto, 4:30-6:00PM, Basin Street Club (junto del estacionamiento, West Stadium). Students are required to attend their assigned New Student Check-in time, Opening Ceremony and all programming on Sunday, August 16-Thursday, August 20. Failure to do so could result in an unsatisfactory grade.
Families and guests are welcome to attend New Student check-in, residence hall move-in and attend the Opening Ceremony.

Students and families/guests can download the NevadaFIT parking pass to park in the West Stadium Parking Garage August 14-21, 2025.
Families/guests are encouraged to make time to say their goodbyes on or before Sunday, August 16.
Opening Weekend is also for our newly admitted transfer students! To participate in Opening Weekend events, transfer students are welcome to sign up for a course called TransferFIT.
Find hotels offering special discounts for families of incoming University of Nevada, Reno students who are visiting during Orientation and Opening Weekend (June-August 2026).
NevadaFIT students who have not purchased a fall semester parking permit may download a free parking pass, good for parking in the West Stadium Parking Complex from August 15-20.
All incoming students participating in NevadaFIT or TransferFIT will receive their Digital Wolf Pack Initiative device and accessories during Opening Weekend.
