Students, faculty, alumni and community partners gathered for the University of Nevada, Reno College of Business 2026 Honors and Awards Ceremony, celebrating achievement across the college.

Hosted by The College of Business and supported by the Business Student Council, the annual Honors and Awards Ceremony brought together students, faculty, staff, alumni and corporate partners to honor scholarship recipients, outstanding seniors, faculty awardees and inductees into Beta Gamma Sigma. 

The event celebrated academic excellence, leadership and service among students, along with the faculty, alumni and partners who support student success. Organized by the Business Student Council, the ceremony serves as one of the college’s signature annual celebrations. 

“The Honors and Awards Ceremony is always a great opportunity to recognize our many outstanding students, faculty and staff who are making a difference in the world,” said Greg Mosier, dean of the College of Business.

Four graduating seniors, Mark Marchlewski (marketing and management), Andrew Sapwell (marketing), Stevie Scott-Smith (management and information systems) and Emily Zedek (marketing and management), were recognized with Outstanding Senior Awards for academic achievement, leadership and impact. 

The Frank D. Arnold Award, which recognizes a student who has shown excellence in finance, was presented to Zali Sutton. 

Hundreds of students were recognized as recipients of College of Business scholarships, made possible through the continued support of alumni, donors and corporate partners. Scholarships reflected achievement across accounting, finance, marketing, economics, information systems, management and entrepreneurship. 

In addition, undergraduate and graduate students, along with one faculty member, were inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the international business honor society recognizing academic excellence in AACSB-accredited business programs. 

The ceremony also honored alumni and community partners who support student learning, scholarships and professional development: 

  • Tesla, Corporate Partner of the Year 
  • Elemental LED, Nevada Grad Employer of the Year 
  • Pat Black, Volunteer of the Year 
  • Morgan Gottier, Alumni of the Year
  • Aspen Dunn, Academic Advisor of the Year

Faculty members were honored for excellence in teaching and research, including: 

  • Research Excellence Award: Kate Coll and Dilek Uz 
  • Willem Houwink Memorial Award for Teaching Excellence: Anne Carpenter 
  • Bill Parish Excellence in Teaching: Garret Ridinger 
  • Mark Simkin Teaching Excellence in Information Systems: Adam Reed 

The college also recognized student leaders and contributors within College of Business organizations. The following students were named Club Members of the Year: 

  • American Marketing Association: Dalin Moore 
  • Beta Alpha Psi: Rena Arneson
  • Business Student Council: Mark Marchlewski
  • DECA: Carter Sanborn
  • Entrepreneurship Club: Athena Efthemeou
  • Management and Human Resources Association: Jay Jordan
  • Nevada Student Investment Organization: KJ Moreno

The Honors and Awards Ceremony reflects the College's continued commitment to academic excellence, experiential learning and community engagement.
