The University of Nevada Reno, Innevation Center will again be a featured venue for the sophomore year of Reno Startup Week, scheduled for Sept. 16-20, 2024. In addition to a variety of speakers, all registered event attendees will get access to the work areas of the Innevation Center with coffee, white boards, Wi-Fi and networking opportunities.
Reno Startup Week is an in-person, community-driven, free event dedicated to celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit in Reno. The week-long event features activities like speeches, discussions, workshops, competitions, mentoring programs and networking events. Events are free, but space may be limited, so interested attendees are encouraged to sign up through the Reno Startup Week website and secure a spot today.
“The University of Nevada, Reno Innevation Center is proud to be one of the primary venues for this week-long conference,” Ania Aloia, business manager for the Innevation Center, said. “Reno Startup Week is an amazing opportunity to support our thriving startup ecosystem, promote innovation and facilitate collaboration among entrepreneurs of all stages – whether you're just getting started, running a small business, or focusing on scaling your startup.”
New for 2024, Reno Startup Week is introducing the use of Whova, an application used for accessing the event schedule, including speaker events, workshops and social hours. Whova also enables connections with fellow attendees. The app can be downloaded for free from the app store on smartphones to gain access to the week-long content.
Reno Startup Week is organized by a collaborative effort involving various local organizations and community members dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship in the Reno area. Headquarters for the event this year are at The Paloma, a furniture showroom and design studio in downtown Reno. Events are scheduled across multiple venues throughout the community, including the University’s Southside Studio, home to the K-12 Robotics Center across the street from the Innevation Center.
The first event scheduled at the Innevation Center is 9 a.m., Monday, Sept. 16, for a session about navigating the commercial real estate landscape.
