On the morning of Saturday, Dec. 9, 32 graduates of the Reynolds School of Journalism joined the University of Nevada, Reno’s 2017 winter cohort as they received their hard-earned diplomas. The University conferred a total of 1,835 degrees, and United States Sen. Catherine Cortez-Masto spoke to graduates about public service and the many ways in which graduates can pursue public service in their personal and professional lives.
As is tradition, the Reynolds School of Journalism hosted 22 members of its graduating cohort, both undergraduate and graduate, at a graduation reception to enjoy light refreshments in the company of their friends, families, peers and professors and celebrate the eve of their graduation day.
Students posed for the graduate class photo, as well as listened to the encouraging and empowering words of professor Paul Mitchell as he primed them to take on the post-graduation media landscape.
