President Marc Johnson will lay out many of the University's priorities for the 2016-2017 academic year in his annual "State of the University" address, scheduled for 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20 in the Glick Ballrooms of the Joe Crowley Student Union.

"The past year has been one of notable achievement by our entire University," Johnson said, noting that the institution continues to reach new milestones in areas ranging from enrollment, graduation, diversity and faculty and student achievement. "We continue to have a major impact on the lives of our students, the state we serve, and the future that we are all working together to realize."

In his address, Johnson said he plans on touching on several key areas.

In addition to highlighting the many accomplishments of the past year, Johnson will explain why the University over the coming year plans to deepen its commitment to its mission; how the University plans on strengthening its ties to the community; how the University is providing the educated workforce the state of Nevada needs in developing emerging industries; and what the University's priorities for the upcoming 2017 legislative session will be.
