University honored as one of Top 10 'high-altitude' colleges cites location to Tahoe, skiing, beautiful campus

The University of Nevada, Reno, was recently listed by as one of the Top 10 "High-Altitude" colleges or universities in the country.

The University, according to, benefits from its 4,505-foot elevation on a number of different fronts:

"Situated in the high desert valley near the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, UNR is within easy driving distance of Lake Tahoe - the second-deepest freshwater lake in the country - and a plethora of ski resorts. Don't want to bother leaving campus to get your nature fix? The school's extensive arboretum showcases a wide array of native trees, shrubs and flowers."
