Reception for 'Far Out' set for Sunday

University art scene from 1960-75 chronicled in Special Collections exhibit

The opening reception of "Far Out! The University Art Scene from 1960-1975," a Special Collections exhibit featuring revolutionary University art from 1960-1975, will be held on Sunday, July 8, from 3 to 6:30 p.m. The reception will be held in the Whittemore Gallery on the lower level of the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center.

The reception features a meet and greet with the artists and live music by 1960ss San Francisco psychedelic band Sopwith Camel. At 4 p.m., introductions, followed by guided tours, will be held.

Admission is free.

Complimentary parking is available in the Brian Whalen Garage (directly in front of the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center).

The exhibit will be open July 1 and runs through Sept. 9.
