Pack beats B.C. again in Kraft free meals text battle

One victory was good. Two victories in the same day for the University of Nevada, Reno football team was even better.

On Sunday, Jan. 9, the Wolf Pack beat Boston College, 20-13, in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl at AT&T Park in San Francisco. Heading into Sunday's matchup, Wolf Pack fans had been encouraged to out-text Boston College's fans in an effort to win a 20,000-meal donation from Kraft Foods to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.

Pack fans won that matchup, too, as it was announced that in addition to the 20,000 meals, Kraft would also donate one additional meal for each text sent by Nevada's fans. This resulted in an additional 19,136 meals for the food bank.

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada serves more than 100 partner agencies in Northern Nevada and the Eastern Sierra. The Food Bank of Northern Nevada provides and supports programs including food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, after-school programs and Kids Cafe (dinner program), Kids Cafe Summer Meals program, Food Stamp Outreach and more.
