Abstract
Current research models asteroids as spheres of silica despite these structures being composed of different porous materials. Understanding the dynamic compaction of combined porous materials is crucial in evolving the modeling for these structures. In this study, the dynamic compaction of porous tungsten carbide and copper are used as endmembers on the effect of material strength in testing the mixture of compaction models.
