Summary
Jess Rinker is the author of several books for young readers including picture book biographies and middle grade fiction. Titles include Gloria Takes a Stand, a biography of feminist icon Gloria Steinem, Send a Girl!: The True Story of How Women Joined the FDNY and middle grade novels The Dare Sisters, The Dare Sisters: Shipwrecked!, The Hike to Home, and Out of Time: Lost on the Titanic.
Jess has a B.A. in social welfare from Bloomsburg University, and an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts. In addition to the University of Nevada, Reno at Lake Tahoe, she adjuncts at her local community college where she was recently awarded the Excellence in Teaching and Learning Award.
