The Art of Handmade Books

Explore the world of print and mixed media, using techniques such as letterpress, composition building, and hands-on crafting. Experiment with materials like decorative papers, fabric, and found objects to create layered, dynamic compositions.

About the artist

Meg Pohlod

Meg Pohlod is a print artist based in Reno, Nevada, and the Bay Area. She currently serves as the Managing Director and Instructor of Record at Black Rock Press at the University of Nevada, Reno. Meg holds an MFA in Printmaking from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, and a BFA in Printmaking from Metropolitan State University of Colorado in Denver. Her work has been recognized with awards such as the Redfield Fellowship from Black Rock Press and the Robert Rauschenberg Emergency Grant from the New York Foundation for the Arts. Meg has taught printmaking at the California College of Art and has led programs for older adults through the Institute on Aging in San Francisco.
