Plein Air Creative Writing

Venture outside to explore sensory responses to nature and practice writing what you see. Experiment with ekphrastic writing and the objective correlative to express your internal world through vivid imagery.

About the artist

June Saraceno

June Sylvester Saraceno is the author of the novel Feral, North Carolina, 1965, listed in Buzzfeed as one of “18 Must-Read Books from Indie Presses.” In addition to fiction, she writes poetry, with three collections in print: The Girl from Yesterday, Of Dirt and Tar, and Altars of Ordinary Light. Her work has appeared in journals such as The Rumpus and Southwestern American Literature.

June is the director of the low residency MFA program in creative writing at the University of Nevada, Reno at Lake Tahoe and runs the literary speaker series Writers in the Woods.
