Finding Form: Coil-Built Vessels

This workshop introduces coil and pinch techniques for building vessels. Participants will explore creating transitional edges, cantilevered planes, and full curves, developing a personal vocabulary in clay through demonstrations and one-on-one instruction.

About the artist

Giselle Hicks

Giselle Hicks has been working in clay for 25 years. Originally from California, she received her BFA from Syracuse University and her MFA from Alfred University in New York. Giselle has participated in artist-in-residence programs including Anderson Ranch Arts Center, the Kohler Company Arts/Industry Program, and The Archie Bray Foundation. Her work has been exhibited at institutions such as the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and the Bellevue Art Museum. Currently based in Helena, Montana, Giselle maintains a full-time studio practice, collaborating with galleries and interior design firms.
