The University of Nevada, Reno, in partnership with Extended Studies, is proud to offer nine incredible study programs. Courses focus on international business, management, entrepreneurship, leadership and humanities through a combination of online instruction, lectures, tours and more! All programs have limited space. Prices are based on Nevada residency, are per person and do not include airfare.

Singapore

  • Trip date: January 3 to 10, 2027
  • Cost: $3,595

  • Learn about Asia-Pacific trade in the context of one of the most diverse and culturally rich countries in the world. Several business visits with companies with Nevada ties are planned.

New York, New York

  • Trip date: March 21 to 27, 2027
  • Cost: $3,595 for double occupancy, $4,295 for single
  • 3 credits - MGT 491 (undergraduate) or BADM 729 (graduate)
  • Management science and humanities come together through exploration of museums, plays, films, galleries, readings and lectures. Design thinking concepts are discussed, challenged and deconstructed.
  • Fees include class credits, accommodations, course materials and five class meals

Tokyo, Japan

  • Trip date: May 16 to 22, 2027
  • Cost: $3,595
  • 3 credits - BUS 400 (undergrad), BADM 791 or BADM 729 (graduate)
  • Experience Japan’s unique balance of tradition and cutting-edge innovation. Business visits are planned with Sony, Toyota, and other leading manufacturers, along with exposure to startups and international firms with Nevada ties. Students will also engage in lectures and discussions about Japan’s economic role in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Cultural highlights include Shibuya Crossing, the Asakusa district, the Meiji Shrine, and an excursion to Mount Fuji.
  • Fees include class credit, shared accommodations, local transportation, selected tours, course materials, breakfast, and a concluding class dinner.

South Korea

  • Trip date: May 23 to 29, 2027
  • 3 credits - BUS 400 (undergrad), BADM 791 or BADM 729 (graduate)
  • Spend seven days in Seoul and Busan, exploring Korean culture and learning about historically significant locations. In Busan, we will visit Hyundai Ulsan Plant, the world's largest automobile plant, as well as Haeundae Beach, Gwangali Beach, Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, and Jagalchi Market. In Seoul, we will visit Seoul Sky, Insadong, Myeongdong,  Gwangjang Market, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and Microsoft Seoul. Additionally, we will tour the Korean Demilitarized Zone on the border of South Korea and North Korea.
  • Fees include class credit, accommodations, local transportation, tours and at least one meal per day.

Chiang Mai, Thailand

  • Trip date: May 30 to June 5, 2027

  • This study abroad course combines online preparation with an immersive week in Chiang Mai, Thailand, one of Southeast Asia's most vibrant and culturally rich cities. Students will explore how organizations in Northern Thailand balance economic success with environmental stewardship and social responsibility while gaining firsthand insight into the opportunities and challenges of doing business in an emerging market. 
  • Highlights include visits to an ethical elephant sanctuary, the Thai Royal Project, hill tribe villages, local markets, Buddhist temples, and a hands-on Thai cooking experience. Students will return with a broader global perspective, stronger intercultural communication skills, and practical business insights that employers value in an increasingly interconnected economy. Students seeking adventure, personal growth, and a truly global business education will find this course an unforgettable academic experience.

  • Management course, focusing on the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and challenges and opportunities of doing business in Canada.

Dublin, Ireland

  • Trip date: June 20 to 26, 2027

  • This study abroad course explores Dublin, Ireland as a living laboratory of global business icons, examining how brands achieve international success through culture, storytelling, and strategic positioning. Through a three-week online preparatory component and one week of immersive site visits in Dublin, students will analyze heritage brands such as Guinness and Jameson, Irish pubs and mercantile shops, and global technology leaders in Silicon Docks. Emphasis is placed on branding, global expansion, and the role of national culture in business, culminating in experiential learning and immersion into Irish culture, traditions, and business powerhouses.

  • Both groups will spend the first week visiting local businesses, understanding the new environment in a post-Brexit world. Students will examine British culture and its relationship to the business climate.
  • Undergraduates will participate in a 3 credit class for the remaining 3 weeks, providing a required or elective course in most degrees.
  • Fees include class credits, accommodations (single and ensuite), local transportation for course-related work, select tours, course materials, a special class event, meals in the dormitory and a concluding dinner.

Buenos Aires, Argentina

  • Trip date: July 25 to 31, 2027

  • Learn about business innovation, finance and entrepreneurship through the context of business visits in banking, manufacturing and retail business sectors. Argentine business leaders and American leaders working overseas will be the focal points of contact for students in the program.
