Strategic & Master Planning
The University has served the state of Nevada since 1874, first from Elko, then from Reno. Through time, the University of Nevada, Reno has evolved to become a comprehensive institution of higher education for learning, discovery, and community engagement across the full range of academic disciplines. The University regularly engages in strategic planning, master planning and program review in order to meet future needs in instruction, research, and community outreach. In 2014 we engaged in processes to update both our Strategic Plan and our Master Plan. A strategic and master planning consultant, VanWoert-Bigotti, assisted us with the planning processes. Following the year-long collaborative effort, updated Strategic and Master Plans were reviewed and approved by the NSHE Board of Regents in December 2014.
