Component overview
Video panels allow you to combine a video embed component with copy placed next to the video. The video embed component offers additional styling and sizing options for your video.
- Video Panels can be used on all page schemas: Although designed for the Section Front schema, Video Panels can also be used on Section Detail, Profile Detail and Degree Detail pages.
- Vdieo Panels are designed for YouTube and Vimeo.
- Sizing and text placement: The Video Panel has a WYSIWYG for content to be placed next to your video. The video size can be set to 6 columns or 8 columns. You have the option to vertically align your text along the height of the video.
- Use background color to your advantage: Video Panels allow for dark gray or blue backgrounds on your video.
- Video Panels do not have a separate header field: If you use a heading in the WYSIWYG, be sure to select a proper H-tag to ensure you do not skip H-tag levels and adhere to our accessibility and on-page optimization guidelines.
- Video Panels must have human-generated captions: All videos embedded on our site must have human-reviewed and edited captions.

What is the RET site?
This Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) site at the University of Nevada, Reno aims to deliver a unique holistic research experience to K-12 teachers of Nevada in relation to future smart cities and the cutting edge topics of robotics and big data, as well as their intersection. The overarching goal is to enable a critical mass of teachers in Nevada to be able to help their students develop a passion for these domains, strengthen their critical thinking and broadly nurture an interest to excel in STEM fields.
