Tips for protecting your computer and your data
- Create a strong password and change it frequently (at least once per semester)
- Never share your password with anyone and don't write it down
- If you login to something, be sure to logout
- Log out (or lock using Ctrl+alt+delete or from the apple menu on a Mac, choose "Log Out...") your computer when it's not in use
- Do not use public computers to conduct financial transactions
- Use caution when opening email attachments
- Install anti-virus software and keep it up to date
