Families and guests
Families and guests are invited to participate in orientation with their student. The family program will include Wolf Pack Preview and an in-person day. Family orientation is a great opportunity to become familiar with campus, connect with administrators, faculty, other families and participate in breakout sessions on topics ranging from safety to financial aid and housing.

Orientation program details for families and guests
- Students must register each parent or guest through their orientation registration account.
- If a guest needs to be added or removed from an existing registration, please email orientation@unr.edu with the name and email address for the guest.
- There is a $75 per guest fee for the Single-day and Overnight Orientation programs.
- There is a $45 per guest fee for the Transfer Orientation program.
- Guest fees are waived for families who qualify for an application or advanced registration fee waiver.
- Guest fees cover programming, materials and food.
- This is a single-day program that begins at 9 a.m. and runs until 5 p.m., with an optional campus tour until 5:45 p.m.
- Check-in begins at 9 a.m. on the third floor of the Joe Crowley Student Union.
- The program will consist of breakout sessions, a resource fair and tours of popular locations on campus.
- Campus offices will be open by 8 a.m. for students who have business to complete on campus ( i.e. financial aid, WolfCard, etc.).
- Students who have not submitted a photo for their WolfCard should plan on checking-in early to do that before the program begins.
- More details will be added as they become available.
- This is a two-day program where students stay overnight in a residence hall.
- Families and guests must provide their own overnight accommodations. A list of hotels will be posted soon.
- Check-in begins at 10 a.m. in the courtyard outside Nevada Living Learning Community on day one.
- Both students and families will begin day two with a continental breakfast at 8 a.m., which includes programming.
- The orientation will conclude by 10 a.m. on day two.
- Lunch and snacks will be provided for guests. Students will also receive dinner on day one. Both guests and students will receive breakfast on day two.

- If you are flying, plan to fly into the Reno-Tahoe International Airport.
- Shuttle service is not be provided, however, the University is about a 10-15 minute drive with any ride-share company (Taxi, Uber, Lyft)

- If driving, the University is easily accessible off of I-80, N. Virginia St. exit.
- There are many hotels available close to the airport and/or the campus.
- Soon, we will provide a list of hotels with discount codes for families.
Free parking is available for students and guests attending orientation. Parking passes are required. Download and print the parking pass below and display in your window. Passes are only valid on orientation days and not valid at parking meters. Passes will also be available at check-in.
Overnight Orientation: Those attending an overnight orientation program will park in the Sierra Street Parking Complex. Overnight orientation parking passes are also valid in the West Stadium Parking Complex, top two floors only.
Single-day/Transfer Orientation: Those attending a single-day or transfer orientation programs will park in the West Stadium Parking Complex, top two floors only.
- The University provides students with linens that include sheets, blanket, towels and pillows.
- Students and families should dress in clothes and shoes that they’ll be comfortable wearing indoors, outdoors and while doing a lot of walking.
